Yumna Hassan

Yumna Hassan is a 2nd-year Biomedical Engineering student at Nottingham Trent University (NTU). She is passionate about humanitarian causes and strongly believes in and advocates a philosophy of alleviating distress and creating positive influence wherever possible.

Yumna aspires to achieve this through a career in the charity sector through work with NGOs. As a Vice President at Enactus NTU, she is able to support an NGO that specializes in creating local and international, student-led social enterprises. These include the Zimbabwe Fisheries Project (ZFP), of which Yumna is also the project leader, aiming to create an alternative income source for Bulawayo locals and reduce fish poaching.

Yumna being a Project Coordinator at Unity in the Community, is able to work towards impactful community projects in Nottingham and nationally, to promote justice and human rights worldwide. She hopes to graduate from NTU with a Biomedical Engineering degree and an accelerated career in the humanitarian industry.
